Im wondering if you get the same performance mixing say an evga gtx280 with a xfx gtx280 in sli. Or is it better to keep the same brands together when going sli?

as long as the specs are the same it should not make a difference I think.

I think evga's precision has a setting to OC them both at the same time but you can do them individually from what I understand.

Well like a Dumbo I didn't wait for the 295 to come out, so I ordered it before hand, and paid $299 from amazon.

DS carries them but at $470 for zotac and $530 for xfx.

thats not aa bad price but I would never buy a part from ds that I plan on upgrading myself.  They are very expensive when buying parts they told me there 1066 dominater ram for 4gb was 130 buck. Well it was cheaper on new egg befor x-mas but it still only cost 44$ at new egg.  ds you make some nice pc's but not so nice upgrade parts http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145214

I have to agree, even tho installation and warranty is added to the ones you buy from DS, at the end of the day for people like us, it just does not make sense.
