I have a Intel 510 series that is getting full. Can I add another of a different brand or even the new 520 series so I would have 2 SSD drives ? Can I still use the Intel SSD toolbox for both since they are not exactly the same? ( of course I have the room and connections)

Yep, you should have no issues with this.
