Topic: modifying my start menu Posted: 18 Oct 2008 at 5:00am |
I was just wandering if I can delete some of the FS9 programs from my start menu. As you can see by the picture, they pretty much take a lot of the space and just makes the menu look like I have a lot on the puter, I know that some have an uninstall or options that allow me do do stuff to the aircraft ( Im not looking to uninstall those), but some dont have anything. I wanted to ask because I know that if I do it without knowing, and mess it up, ill be pissed. :)

You can also go to C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Start Menu and organize everything there.

just FYI, all those options in the start menu folder is still available to you, most times its in the program folder, so deleting the start menu folder does not get rid of those options

If one wants to delete their start menu folder, but keep some of the options, they can easily make a shortcut for that option and put it in the quick launch or desktop.
Obviously they don't want it in the start menu, so we know its not gonna go there. |

Question, is Vista the only OS that allows color customization of the desktop bar?

I think there are apps that will let you customise things to a certain extent, I don't' remember if the title bar was one of them or not.

Something tells me I would need some special file editor anyway even if I find the location of the style folder.
I'd just google it, but I wouldn't know what's the appropriate keywords either lol. |

Windows Blinds costs money but it is the ultimate customization program.
www.wincustomize.com has a ton of WB Templates that look really nice. I had XP look exactly like Vista once :D

Woah.... Royal Mixer changed my bottom interface and windows to Windows 2000-esque (or Windows Classic) interface.
(Just so that nobody misses my edit ahaha) Edit: Simply put, it doesn't produce the result of what was shown on the screenshots of Royal Noir. Edited by Axel Daemon - 23 Oct 2008 at 4:36pm |

right click desktop (in an empty spot)?properties>appearance>advance>here check the drop menu and see if you can find the task bar, to the right of it you can choose a color theme.
maybe if you choose black for desktop, that would do it? |

Tried, none of the options there would change the bottom bar and START to black.

crap maybe this is the link i should have provided
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhancements/Themes/Royale-Noir-Theme.shtml basically all your doing is adding a color scheme... so you go appearance and select "royal noir" for color and looks just like that screen shot. and yea, I use it with SP3, looks great. |

XP.
And "Q: After installing the theme, my desktop only display the classic windows? A: Because this is not an official desktop theme made by Microsoft, a modified uxtheme.dll system file is needed to use this theme. Simply follow the link provided (or here) to download the Uxtheme Multi-Patcher 5.0 or Universal Theme Patcher 2.1 (here), run it and follow the instructions to guide you through the process." Ok time to work this lol. |
