Hey guys. I know plenty about computer hardware, but I've never done a lot research about monitor setups/brands nor speakers/headsets. I have a few questions.
I'll either be running gtx580 sli or 6970cf. Now. What do you guys think is better. Dual monitor setup, something like the Dell 23 inch IPS or a monitor that runs 2560x1440? I would guess the 2560 but it's over a 1000 dollars, and I'd rather put that money into the actual computer. Is gaming at that resolution amazing though? Also can you explain to me if Dual monitor gaming is even worth it? It would seem like it has no center piece for gaming. I also wouldn't mind trying 3D as the few reviews that have come out show it's pretty amazing, but I'm guessing not to many games are compatible with it yet, plus gaming in 3D over 1920+ resolution will bring SLI/CF to it's knees. Also can you recommend a good headset/speaker setup? I used to have the Triton AX pro, but it had so many cords it bothered me. Thank you for your help, I just need a little advice here. Give me some good options. |

The higher the res on a good monitor the better everything looks.
I personally like the bigger single monitor over dual, specilaly since in few year you can add another if you wanted to and run dual 2560 x 1600 res monitor. but if you gonna go that res, wait for the 30" to go on sale, right now its on sale for $1100, check out my thread in this section on it. that promo ends the 18th of this month.
