I am in the market for a monitor calibration package, but have little to no experience in this.  I've been poking around and reading reviews, but seem to find a healthy mix of 'it sucks' and 'it is great' for about every product.  My price range is anything under $200, but could go higher if performance justifiedl.

My current monitor is a Dell 2408WFP, if that helps at all.

I appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction based upon their experience.

If you ask me, unless your monitor is out of whack, calibration is over rated.

Just my input

and I have your monitor

My monitor came with a calibration cd, so I thought that was a norm kind of thing for monitors to have with them.

I just ran it, after following instructions..

Do all of them follow the same type of calibration?  Mine was "ImageTune" all I needed to do was drag a box till that box blended with the background perfectly enough that you couldn't distinguish it, and when you do that numerous times till the end.  The color become something of a... how should I put it.  "true" shade of color, not that annoying hint of blue shade you would see sometimes by default.

If you have any lucasfilm dvd (star wars Indiana jones etc)  They all come with a free THX optimizer.  Just pop in a movie, hit the thx logo in the menu and follow the directions.

It made a fairly noticable difference to me.
