I am stuck in Sacramento, killin" time and reading posts. I read a Plasma TV thread below and got me thinking about DST4E's response as it may relate to my rig. I figure it would be best to start a new topic, so here it goes...

[QUOTE=DST4ME]
1. I'm not sure if that TV will make a great monitor.

2. not sure, if you are taking about a TV card then its for the PC to receive signal and not out put.

3. a single 275 is all you need up to 1900 x 1200, at 1900 x 1200 you will need 2 GPUs so you can play with high settings.

Just wondering after reading DS's last reply (#3) - My monitor will be 1900 x 1200, my game is WoW, my GPU will be GTX 275. Will this combo work ok? I went with a single GPU because of WoW's dislike of SLI, but I went with a 24" 1900x1200 monitor for work-related use. Just worrying before I even get my machine ... too much time on y hands today.

WoW relies heavily on the CPU, HDD, and RAM. As long as you have a recent performance GPU, it is a non issue in WoW.

I play wow at 1920 x 1200 with my 295 card and it runs flawlessly as does Warhammer online and Crysis etc etc etc. The Gtx 275 should handle WoW @ 1900x1200 just fine. Games like crysis and other graphic intense games you might want an OC 275 or 2 275's or 1 295. Ermm

Thanks for the info on WoW.

How about non-WoW use on my single 275 driving a 24" 1900x1200 monitor - performance/clarity issues while viewing stock market tickers, graphs and such. I am also going to be doing some video & photo editing and word processing so font clarity is important there. Is a single 275 sufficient for these uses?

font clarity and colour is dependant on your monitor, not your GPU. If you want a nice monitor for editing, get a IPS panel such as the Dell 2409.

wow does not use sli but all the games that do, your 2 x 275 will handle them perfectly at 1900 x 1200
