Looking for a good 23" or 24" 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor.  This will be used mostly for gaming, any recommendations?

I have a budget of up to $400.00 for this monitor.

I think the gurus will agree with this

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04SP1&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=U2412M&s=bsd

that's what they have been promoting all this time!

i heard it can go lower from time to time

so, with HDMI ports on most graphics cards now, I was wondering something. Is it ok to now use HDMI cables now to connect your monitor to the computer and game and stuff, or do we still need to use DVI for general use? I thought maybe you only might use those HDMI ports when you wanted to watch Blu-rays or for video editing and such, but I wanted to ask here because I am looking at both of those monitors. Thanks for the help.

the only difference between hdmi and dvi is sound, otherwise video is the same, for 3D you have to use dvi.

When I click the 24" link it comes up as U2412m - is that the correct one? Dont think it has hdmi - I maybe mistaken and just not seeing it. Dont know how much if any that it matters as u posted above.

It hdmi vs dvi in video does not matter at all, its the same exact thing.

yes the first monitor is the 23" IPS (its on sale right now) and the second is the 24" IPS.

There is an DVI adapter to make it HDMI for the 23" I believe, but I could be mistaken

You can use a adapter to turn dvi to hdmi, it still won't have sound and quality will not change.
