Hello, i am buying a new gaming computer rig in about 3 months from now and am trying to do some research into what Monitor to get. Now my general use is going to be Gaming, Some 3D Work, Photoshop, AAE, and Vegas but Mostly Gaming.

I want to keep the monitor under $400 if possible and am looking for around a 22-24 inch. Ive heard some good things about Dell Ultrasharps but then also heard some pretty bad things so im kinda torn on that one. If any one could help recommend a monitor it would be much Appreciated

For my new DS rig I bought an HP 2311x:
Tom's Hardware HP 2311x
This is a 23" wide screen. Very happy with the monitor, has settings for photo, gaming, movies, text and custom. Excellent resolution and I find text to be crystal clear and easy to read. The few movies I watch are vivid and clear. Has VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs and comes with both of the first two cords and plugs . . . there is no HDMI cable in the box.
Paid $167 including tax at Fry's.
Two other monitors in this price range are reviewed at the above link which would also be good choices if you don't care for HP.

I've heard that the contrast on the Ultrasharps is a bit lower than some other monitors, but I've never heard anything bad. I'm getting the U2312HM.

Okay Thanks Everyone. After researching for a few hours today i have decided to go with the U2312HM. At least unless something else comes out thats better before i order my rig.
