Hi guys,
I use my computer mostly for MMO or 4x strategy games as well as netflix. No shooters. I currently have a 40 inch Samsung UHDTV running at 3840x2160. Not sure what the response time is, I think in the 45-70ms range. What suggestions would you have for my viewing pleasure once I get my new rig. I have room for 2 smaller monitors if necessary. I love the real estate on the 40" TV |

One of the more highly regarded WQHD (3440 x 1440P) curved gaming monitors is the (Dell) Alienware 34" AW3418DW...IPS color quality, 120 hz, 4MS response time...Around $850 right now....have seen it around $750-800 on sale...

Those game types tend not to be all that demanding. Since you love the TV, I'd wait and see how she looks to you powered by your new rig before deciding.

How about these?
1. Asus Designo Curve MX38VC 2. Dell UltraSharp UP3218K The above two are my favorites. |

I generally prefer Dells display quality...I have a 32” and 5 x 24” Dell Ultrasharp IPS monitors and none has ever failed me.
The 8k Dell 32” panel is way ahead of its time and 3x the price of the Asus 38” panel. Not many games will support the 8k resolution and features on the Dell, but if you were a prof photographer or photo editor you might have the uses to justify that price. That one will require a top line video card or two in the new computer driving it!...and 8K on this panel requires two DP cables feeding signal from the video card. The best feature of theAsus is its unusual 38” size. It lacks some high end features, but it’s a very nice IPS panel and at around $1,000 a more reasonable monitor for gaming. Techradar has reviewed both panels if interested. |
