Hey fellows,

I've been setting up my perfect configuration for quite a while now, tweaking it slightly as new hardware releases, prices drop, and just comparing and contrasting data relevant to price:performance ratio's, but if there is one thing I'm not good at finding relevant data on it's monitors.

I contacted Sarah in hopes that she would be as helpful as she has been with my configuration, but sadly she said she has little knowledge on monitors and directed me here. So after a brief period of scouring the forums for recent information on the latest monitors, I've only been able to find threads about older monitors or else people saying how much they love each individual monitor they have, and while this is great, I don't want to be mislead that any old name brand monitor is fine.

Which leads me here, can you fellows please help me find a 1900x1080 or higher resolution monitor in the $200-300 price range that is optimal for a mix of gaming and home media center? I will settle for just an optimal gaming monitor, but if you could find me one that has a low latency and high contrast without losing qualities that would otherwise make it useless for either task, that would be lovely.

Thank you very much for any help and cooperation you can give me and I hope to see some replies soon.

I have the Samsung P2770HD from Costco for $ 350.00 it is 27 inches of Awesome gaming pleasure at 1920x1080.  I could not be happier with this selection.  I have it wall mounted.  No lag and no ghosting.
