So as well all know i'm planning on getting a two monitor setup in the near or distant future. My question is how would i set it up? Like one going dvi to dvi and the other hdmi to hdmi or hdmi going from both monitors to the graphics card?

Doesn't really matter which ports you use. Both DVI or one DVI and HDMI is all good. Just setup multi-monitor in Nvidia control panel.

Remember... HDMI is only DVI + sound.

Taking a standard GPU now a days, you typically have 2x DVI (one DVI-I and one DVI-D), 1x HDMI, and 1x DisplayPort.
So, assuming you have one GPU. Use one DVI-D and one HDMI if you want. I run all of my monitors off of DisplayPort, as it offers faster refresh rates at your higher than 1440p resolutions. But if you're just planning on doing 2x 1440p monitors or 2x 1080p monitors... it really doesn't mater at all what ports you use. |
