For that rig you, depending on the games, you could handle anything from 1200 or 1600 res.
These three are the highest recommended I have came across: Dell U2410-24"(1920x1200)(16:10)
Dell U2711-27"(2560x1440)(16:9)
Dell U3011-30"(2560x1600)(16:10) ![]() Edited by HAL - 06 Jan 2012 at 4:09pm |

You have to have vsync on, what is the point of having it off? your monitor itself will cap you to 60fps anyways.
other IPS monitors then what hall suggested: Dell UltraSharp U2412M Dell UltraSharp u2312 |

If you are tearing use vsync, your monitor is a 60Hz monitor so even tho you get higher then 60fps you will not really notice the difference.
In a effect what you have here is what we call overkill, not only do you not need superclocked 580s to max out your res on the 24", but you don't even need sli 580, now you are left with all this power that is kinda useless do to the monitor's limitation. you can get 120Hz monitor (3D) but those are loud and some people say they get a headache from it, there are a couple of people here that like it, but at the end of the day, whether your monitor can do it or not, 60fps is more then enough for smooth gaming. |

Well why not just use vsync and enjoy 1900 x 1200.
next step would be the 30" HAL posted at 2560 x 1600, but thats a $1100 monitor on sale, otherwise expect to spent $1300 on it. Or as I mentioned you can look into 120Hz monitors, I don't use or recommend those since they are not ips panel, and are loud, once they are IPS and quiet and 240hz then I will get/recommend those. |

My pleasure and good luck
Down clock those 580s to stock speeds so they last longer, you won't notice the difference. Edited by DST4ME - 07 Jan 2012 at 11:52pm |
