Hi phaneufs 4head,
The 1st monitor you have listed is a low quality IPS panal. The 2nd is actually a TN panal. The response time and viewing angle are dead give aways. The Dell UltraSharp series of monitors use a higher grade IPS panal are are excellent monitors. A lot of people here use the Dell U2312HM. Here is a link to Newegg comparing the 2 monitors you have listed above and 2 Dell UltraSharps. The U2312HM is superior to the other 3. The monitor is what you actually look at and in my opinion is not an area where you should try and skimp at. If it is in your budget I would get the Dell UltraSharp U2312HM.

I am glad I came across this post as it is of great interest concerning my upcoming desktop purchase.
Asangard - Is there anything that the Dell Ultrasharp 23" has over the 24" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260047). Or did you mention the 23" merely due to cost containment. Thanks |

Hi BiohazardX-87,
Yes I recommended the 23" because of his budget. Here is a link comparing the 23" Dell UltraSharp U2312HM, the 24" U2412M and the 24" U2410. The only difference between the U2312HM and the U2412M is the aspect ratio. the U2312HM is 16:9 (1920 x 1080) and the U2412M is 16:10 (1920 x 1200). The aspect ration is length to hight. The U2410 is the same aspect ratio as the U2412M but has more colors, is brighter and has a faster response time. I use the U2410 and have for 2 1/2 yrs. But you can't go wrong with any of the Dell UltraSharps. They also make 27" and 30" models. A lot of folks here use the U2312HM.
