You will be able to get a lot of mileage from that build if you stick to a 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution. Ideal is hard to come by in a reasonable price. An IPS panel will give you the best color and viewing angles but will cost more.
I think the ASUS 24" DS sells here is not bad at all. It's a TN panel, but Asus says it has enhanced viewing angles, and it has some nice features, including a 75Hz refresh rate and anti-tearing adaptive sync. Asus quality at a good price. |

Agreed, Cretae. ASUS 24 inch VP248QG would be perfect for the level 3 Lynx.

Ok I’m new to this whole thing and I really appreciate the help so I’m guessing the 75hz will help it look better?

Yes. You have plenty of GPU power to get to high frame rates on a lot of games on a 1080p monitor. The 75Hz native refresh rate will make for snappy response times. It will generally appear smoother than a screen capped at 60 Hz which has been the standard for a very long time. It's a subtle difference, but it's very nice to have at this price point.

Welcome to DS. The Hz refers to how many frames per second (fps) your monitor refreshes. There is ample discussion as to max Hz rates perceived by us mere biological beings and, like Cretae states 60Hz is the standard. You can't go wrong and will be very pleased. Asus makes good products.

BenQ is good. The monitor looks okay, but it does not have all the enhancements the Asus model comes with, but it's bigger.
Did you try to include the Asus with your DS order, and it was sold out? Did they offer the BenQ? If DS offered it as a substitute, I would consider that a solid recommendation. |

No I didn’t include the monitor In order this was my first time buy with Digital Storm products so I must have over looked it accidentally but I did a little research and saw the Ben Q Model and it seemed decent I just needed a second opinion on it though if the Lynx 3 is capable of holding 2 monitors I might use the Ben Q for now and try to get a Asus later and use the Asus as my main monitor when it comes and the Ben Q for multitasking....

Yes, the Lynx 3 can run 2 monitors. You can always add to your DS order before it ships. The BenQ is a good brand, but the thing I liked about the Asus for you was the "enhanced viewing angles". A TN panel is just fine straight on, but most of them really fade out when viewed from an angle. Not a big deal if you're positioned right in front, and someone else isn't trying to watch from the side.
Having said that, the "advanced viewing angles" can be hype more than real. With Asus I doubt it, but you never know. Your idea to eventually use both could be a real winner for you. |
