This takes some BIOS tuning to get right, but if you follow your motherboard manual it'll show you how to adjust your power state options.

There are several levels of power state options that help you dictate what "off" actually means.

If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to send me an e-mail: [email protected]

Thx Stellar. I would like to change mine too. All USBs are still powered along with the MB lights still on.

Will look at manual and see if I can figure it out.

There is a stealth mode I think it is called that you have to turn on in the bios to change that behavior. You can also do it in Armoury Crate (downloadable from the Asus site - also controls RGB stuff), but we forewarned that Armoury Crate seems massively buggy to me (granted I have only been using it a day).

Read through my MB manual this morning. Nothing there on the subject of MB power state options. Will do some Googling.

You can prob find it on the Asus/ROG forums too if you register over there. I haven't fiddled with the USBs, but I powered my MB lights off on power down using Armoury Crate. The option in AC is "shutdown effect" and the default was Rainbow, but I just flipped the slider to off and now my board is dark when I power down.

From what I am learning the RGB stuff is a bit of a mess. I installed iCUE to control my fans, but it won't control my MB or my RAM (it sees my GPU though and will control that). I installed the GSkill program to control my RAM, but now everything is running separate lighting schemes and I have apps everywhere I don't want. Figured out that iCUE CAN control my MB after I installed Armoury Crate (must have loaded a plug in or something during install) so technically I can probably remove Armoury Crate now, but AC also controls my RAM so now I can have my MB and RAM match so don't really want to lose that.. did I mention that iCUE won't control GSkill RAM? Anyway..you get the idea. Not a terribly well thought out and user friendly space, IMO, but after some fiddling I think I have my lighting where I want it. Well, most of the time...sometimes if I leave my PC idle for too long the ram and MB do weird stuff and I have to open Armoury Crate again (that fixes it for some reason) and then close it. lol.. Uh, good luck!

I found some YT vids on where to look and adjust in bios for my particular MB. Just trying to decide if I really need and want to.

Yup..it's an option in the BIOS as well. I was already fiddling with the lighting using AC so tried it there. Luckily that is the one setting in AC that seems to stick.

I think I finally have my RGB sorted out, but it took a bit of fiddling. It looks to me like in my case iCUE and Armoury Crate were stepping on each other even if I told each of them specifically NOT to control the other's RGB stuff. What I ended up doing is using Armoury Crate/Aura to control my GSkill RAM sticks, my ROG MB and my 3080's LEDs. In iCUE I unchecked the plug-ins to keep them from loading and trying to control the GPU and the MB and only use iCUE to control my fans. So far so good...lighting scheme has stuck since the change through multiple reboots. MB lights on power down are still off as well so Armoury Crate was effective for that change as well (although you can easily make that change in the BIOS too).
