I believe my Motherboard is failing. EVGA X58 3x SLI. CPU is I7 Extreme edition 965
System memory: 6gb DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator DHX
Any recomendations on a new Motherboard? If I go with EVGA again which one?
Currently running Nvidia 285's SLI. Will swap out those when I need DX11 I guess.
CPU is currently OC @ 3.86.
Liqiud cooling H2O stage 3 ( I believe) has the tripple Radiator instead of the single 120mm for CPU.
Reasons for me thinking MB is failing is ports my HD's are connecting to. I am getting an Ultra DMA CRC Error count ( warning from HD Tune pro) 2 /data. Have replaced the cables, swapped out the drive in question (WD 500 for a WD 750) Error came back. What prompted me to check the drives was ... on a very few ocasions starting shortly after I recieved the puter system would boot with out reading said drive. Reboot and all was fine. Then recently system would fail to boot asking me to insert windows disk .... I had to reset boot order in bios for C drive to be recognized. I only have one spare port, and after changoin the port said drive is/was on all seems fine except for the HD pro warning. And onle on that same <new> drive. Also system seems slow to boot and had been only showing the one drive <troubled one> in boot thread. after swaping the sata cable it now shows both my WD 750 and my WD 500 ... never shows my 300 gb Raptor <c> drive. But this I think is normal. Also after swapping out the port on the 750 drive it now shows both the WD drives as SCSI in my bios. Again I think this is fine .... maybe a preset read for bios. I have not noticed any performance issues, and system seems to be stable and performing fine. The reason for the swap out of the MB is peace of mind.

Been talking with them ... Have to say DS customer service is awsome. Have some fan replacement otw. As for the MB ... its just faster to get a new board and replace it. I am fine with doing this.

EVGA's a great brand, been a leetle bit fidgety with their X58 boards lately. seems that 3.99GB issues are popping up more with random fixes. it's more like a 5 in a 1000 thing, but that number has certainly grown from what I see in the EVGA board. just had a FTW3 confirm that a DIMM was dead, and I'm just going to replace it with a asus sabertooth (today actually, I should be getting it :D)

FTW editions and classifieds are a bit more buggy then their regular boards like the sli 3, but that is because they are a bit more high-end, more high-end parts get, the more moody they are.
