I made a thread a couple months ago asking for some input regarding configurations. I've been setting aside money and getting ready to pull the trigger.
Configuration quoted by DST4ME: 577414 I had a couple questions regarding motherboards, GPUs, and PCI slots. In the configuration mentioned above, the motherboard is a P67 deluxe. I know that the Z68 provide additional features regarding SSD and allow users to switch between the onboard graphics card and separate GPU. I want to know if it is worth upgrading? When I get my computer, I am initially going to start off with a single monitor (23" Dell Ultrasharp IPS 1920x 1080). I know in the near future I will purchase an additional monitor. Will a single GPU be enough for running dual monitors and playing computer games at max settings? Should I go SLI instead? If I go SLI will I have a PCI slot for a wireless card? I don't know a whole lot when it comes to PCI slots. I know that there are so many on the motherboard and some of them can be different. With that said, can someone (DST4ME if you don't mind) enlighten me about PCI slots. I realize each GPU requires a PCI slot and some may even take up two spots? Thanks for the help. |

SSD caching is never gonna give you actuall ssd speeds, just add a ssd when you are ready its a much better option.
your gpu is more powerful than the onboard, you never want to use that. I chose the deluxe cause it has many pci lanes when in dual sli. your system was configed with one gpu but can do sli, for single 1900 x 1200 res we recommend sli, for higher res ( two of those monitors) we recommend dual sli with option to go tri if needed, the p67/68 can't do that correctly, but if you want to stick with dual sli only then for dual monitor res you should go with the 2.5GB version of 570 sli. What about pci slots would you like to know? yes each air cooled gpu will take up 2 pci slots. change your psu to the new gen 1050hx corsair. its the upgrade to the 1000w hx, and has a 7 year warranty. also look at ode 3 build.
