Hello
I live in Hungary and I want a mountain mod case. Basically, I want the best case out there for air cooling and water cooling and suited for endless upgrades. My specs, I just got the parts! :) EVGA X58 3x SLI Classified EVGA ATI HD 5970
Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 6Gb DDR3 Corsair 1000W HX Intel i-7 920 Solid state drive 60Gb (SSD)(Windows boot) Seagate barracuda 500Gb (HDD) Windows 7 64 bit professional Creative SB X-Fi Extreme Gamer Sound card. Samsung 24" 1ms monitor HD res. Sennheiser HD 555 Headphones. Noctuha 2xfan CPU cooler. (Will be adding another 5970 after half a year.) Comments? and please give me the price of the mountain mod, and an estimation of how much it will be to ship it to Hungary. :) |

you will have to call them or email them for specific prices.
you don't need a mountain mod to be able to have endless upgrades. 3 x 5870 is better then 2 x 5970. I would not go with a 60GB ssd, the samller they are the slower they are, don't go below 120GB or the speeds drop. for your monitor size all you need is 1 x 5870. if you are LCing the system go with hailstorm, its a great case with plenty of room, I"m doing 4 x 295 LCed and cpu LCed in that case, so its got plenty of room. if you are going with air cooling just go with the haf , its got great airflow and plenty of cooling. SO horizontal is recommended for the mountain mod case? How much do you think it would cost for a U2-UFO mountain mod case to ship to Hungary with about 13 fans and 13 dust filters?

ok but do you know how to oc and all?
if you plan on pushing your pc then go LC, if not then you don't need that case with all those fans, all for what? to go from say 75c to 70c or 68c? not worth it, sure lower temps are better but going from 75c to 68c or 68c to 60c is not important to a gaming system. then you need to take into account fans failing, replacing/shipping costs, etc. I can see somebody like justin having a use for all of that since he benchmarks and squeezes every bit he can, but even with the fans and that case, he is LCed. a regular gamer/user like yourself has no need for such an elaborate setup, heck man I'm getting LC on cpu and 4 gpus (4 x 295) and even I'm going with corsair case, with good temps. this is overkill for most users. I do not know how to watercool a pc. But I want to. Do you have any parts you recommend? Cause I am literally a newbie when it comes to watercooling. I was wanting to have the HD 5870 watercooled also. I have the 920 i-7 CPU And I have ATI HD 5870 (changed it from 5970 after u told me that 3 are better than 2 5970) If I can order the set/kit from DS that would be nice, but I do not think that is possible since I have allready bought the computer parts and I have them here on my desk. I live in Hungary btw, important! :) I am not sure about the case now. Since I maybe want to overclock. And The U2-UFO case looks cool also, with lot of space. |

What do you think of the Corsair H50 liquid cpu cooler? IS it better than the Noctua air cooler? |

Ok then. For a real water cooling system. What can I get? How do I get the one they have on the Hailstorm on the picture? Cause I want that one, with the white cables. Please help!

if you have never LCed before then have DS LC your system so you can get a good idea on how things are setup.
to get a good LC system you have lot of decisions to make. what kind of performance are you trying to get out of it, you gonna push it as far as you can? keep in mind there is so far you can push a 920. high cfm rads or low cfm rads? for rads normally a feser(low cfm) or blackice gtx (high cfm) will due, but you need to see what size you need. cpu WB can be swiftech xt, gpu WB can be EK, they make great WB. pump can be laning or swiftech. tygon tubes are good. etc etc. |

The Mountain MOD case, never heard of it.
Anyways, if you want a case to have excellent airflow, good liquid cooling capabilities, and lots of room for upgrades, give the Silverstone RV01 a go. At Digital Storm, it's called the 1050i case, but its just the Silverstone RV01. The whole thing is jet black, is a mega size tower, and the area on the back of it has room for a radiator mount and liquid cooling resevoir mountain area.
As for airflow, the whole motherboard has been rotated 90 degrees clockwise and all the heat gets vented straight out the top naturally, with the aid of 2 180mm and 1 90mm fans :D
The thing has room for I think 10-11 PCI slots, room for 6 hard drives, and 5 CD-Drive size objects. By the way, the CD-Drive area has this really cool sliding door mechanism that pulls down to reveal them. Close it, say, when you're burning something, and it reduces the noise level significantly. The sliding door tends to be rather slow because it's not completely lubed at the factory, but I've figured out how to fix that on mine :D

CORRECTION : Sorry, was getting some of the specs confused with another case... It has SEVEN expansion slots, and one 120 mm fan instead of the 90mm |

LOL the rv01 is even worst then rv02. it does not have great airflow, haf has great airflow.
Mountain MOD with 12 fans will obviously have much much much better airflow then rv01. I will take the haf over rv01 anyday and I believe most people here will say the same. haf: 3 x 230mm fans 1 x 140mm fans 6 media drives 5 HDDs side slide out bays for easy installation. there are people that have droped raven and gone with haf for better cooling. haf is great for both air or LC, we have heard Alex one of the DS managers say over and over again that rav is not great for LC either. I see you got rv01 and I'm not saying its a horrible case, its an ok case, but for the money I think one can get better performance from hailstorm/haf or if you actually have a use for it Mountain MODs are great cases IMO. once you you mountain mod you never go back. It makes all other commercial cases look like joke. Although I am friends with a local machine shop and I am still working on my own case design, but it is mostly just an improved mountain mod case, for less $$ so that is where my next case is coming from..
