Wanted some advice on moving files/programs off of my SSD.
I have a SSD drive as my main drive with my OS and the games I am playing. However, once I move on from Game A to Game B, is there a way to move those game files to my 2nd drive without having to reinstall? My SSD is full and I want to move my old games off the SSD. I still plan on playing them, so I don't want to delete them or lose my progress in them. Thanks for your help. |

You will most likely have to reinstall the app/game on the other drive. Windows puts files all the over the place, so it's not just as easy as moving the folder. It's also messes up the registry as it won't know where things are anymore.

Be sure to do a backup first!

Hold on, don't do a thing without talking to me, I can make this very simple and easy for you.
There are a couple of ways of doing this. option 1. get a second ssd and add that to the pc and install new games on it and play them off of it. option 2. depending your games, you may be able to just move the folder of game A and put it on a different drive and just put that folder back on to the ssd when ready to play again. tell me if those make sense and if that is what you are trying to do. most games don't use regkeys which means you can move them to a different drive via copy/paste its folder and still able to play them of the second drive.
