Budget:  $3000 or so, includes monitors.  Starcraft, COD.  Maybe Crysis 2.  Are multiple graphics cards necessary for this??  Extra cooling power I am sure too.  Best resolutions.

AMD vs. Nvidia pros/cons can u expand on this?

Also, I have owned a Dell 27 wd in the past and two of them failed within one yr, but that was around 2006 so hopefully they have improved since then.  When it did work, it was an incredible monitor.  I am hesitant to buy one again, but maybe they are okay now?

Crysis 2 requires less than the first one did. Dumbed it down for consoles. COD doesn't require sli either. As to SC2 not sure but I'm assuming your PC from DSO will kill them all. Mine does

IMHO 3D nvidia is better, multi monitor ati is better, at higher res like 2560 x 1600, right now I like the ati 6970 cf, for its 2GB of vram.

other then that, its pretty much preference IMO.

I have many monitors from Dell, non has failed, but I can understand where you are coming from after your experience. I like to buy the 5 year warranty for my monitors, so if anything goes wrong, warranty will cover it.

as for the ultra sharp IPS panels latest models, few people have them on the forum and so far no complaints.
