Budget: $1750 for desktop only - no mouse, keyboard, or monitor
Expectations: To last a long time and easy to upgrade. Unfortunately I'm not a PC gamer yet, but I really want to get a way from the common consumer PC companies.
Usage: Mostly multimedia including storing music, photo editing, and light video editing.
Special Needs: 1TB or 1.5TB hard drive with RAID 1. Looking at an i7 and a GTX 560Ti, but not sure if it is the best for my budget or use. Prefer to keep the case small and basic.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the quick response.
The RAID is for storage. I'm paranoid about losing photos and videos of the family.
What will be my benefits to using an SSD?
I see you went with an overclocked i7 but dropped the video card to 520. Is the 560 overkill for my usage?

If you are not gaming then the 520 is overkill lol.
ssd makes everything go faster, you can raid 10 hdds together and you still won't get the speeds of ssd. all ssds are not the same so you want to make sure you chose the right one. |
