I've been trolling around here for a while and only recently set up a profile enough to start posting.  I'm gonna say something that is gonna be very odd..

The true measure of a company isn't *primarily* in their customer service.
 
What?  Did he just really say that.

But think about this a moment.
 
How many people here bought from DigitalStorm not because they received any "service" being a customer as of yet?  How many people here brought from DigitalStorm because of the service received BEFORE they even bought anything???

Okay.  Here is my thing.  When I look for a company to buy from, I will go in and will ask questions saying something like "I'm pricing XYZ" or "I'm looking at the features for "ABC" and see what they say.  If they take the time to explain things, show me what I really need (vs that will get the most profit), etc.  In the end, my ideal for a company is if they will expend energy on me even if there isn't any guarantee that I will buy anything from them ... or right away.
 
NOW!  That is not saying that once one *is* customer, keeping them happy isn't of nearly equal importance.  But it's one thing to be nice to people who you have money from... it's another to be nice to people who you may *never* get money from.
 
Anyways... just musing for the fun of it.

Just call Digital Storm, and ask them questions, and they will answer anything you want to know *nods*, even if your not buying right now or might buy in the future or not even buy from them.

Exactly; to be honest when I first put a Configuration together I got a call almost immediately; I would say within 1/2hr; that in itself blew me away.  In talking to Kelly for over 1/2 hr. he had told be things I didnt need; things that I wanted; things he thought were useless to me; etc, etc.  He also knew at that time I was shopping around; and hadnt settled on any one company as of yet.  He never asked when I planned on buying; but after a few days once I settled on DS; I told him I wouldnt be ordering for at least 2 months as I was waiting for Probate to Start & Finish.  He had no problems with that; in actuality he answered every email I sent him almost immediately.  So to be Honest his Call after my Configuration put DS at the top of the List; his suggestions and help with my configuration so I wouldnt get things I didnt need or wouldnt use; put them 99% on the top of the list.  So that's my experience.

All I have to say is----It was the call I made to ask about a few things on my configuration that got me to say yup I will place my order.  I am actually on STAGE 5!! hehe hopefully no buggs pop up and will be shipped next week. 
 
But my computer would have been probably a little buggy due to a few componant options I had on my build vs theirs.  I told them my budget and the number of the configuration I had saved and they tweaked it to be at my budget and the best parts for my money.
 
I looked up what I was told on the phone at other tech sites and they were 100% correct on what they told me to get.  I have sent 4 other friends to this site and one of them will be purchasing a comp next month.  Others when they can get the funds will as well.
 
But for my Catch Phrase---  "what did the 5 fingers say to the face?????--------------------------------------SLAP!!!!!"   Tongue
