My gawd, this thing really DOES work! I have a syringe full of MX-2 after I replaced some thermal compound on my rig, which is out for an RMA at the moment. Anyways, I'm currently running a Dell, a Dell that hilariously used to run at 76C idle, 79C after long usage. Applied MX-2 just now after the thing tried to commit hari-kiri multiple times, and man. I'm just appalled. Look for yourself.

After

Seriously!
~18C Difference! Tha's freaking sweet Awesome
The dell itself isn't as good of a laptop though, plan to upgrade to an Asus G53 once it comes out, butbut at least it's running a lot  lot cooler now !

Are you sure its the MX-2 causing those results, or just the placement of new thermal paste after an extended period of use?

It boots up starting off at 65C, then eventually settles down to 57~60C.
Prior to applying MX-2, it would boot off at 71C, then settle down at 76C. Seriously, it did that. I cleaned vents, heatsinks, everything, and it still did that o.O

I'm sure this prolly has alot to do with the better temps ablahblah.  Though I am sure MX-2 is better than what Dell had on.

LOL you inspired me to try the same thing with my netbook.  I wanna also throw windows 7 on it too.

Anyways, congrats on the lower temps!

actually, the old stuff seemed somewhat fresher than I expected. the compound on the heatsink was pretty hard, yes, but it still came off with a few rounds of ArtiClean. didn't have to break out a small flat head and start chipping away at the bigger blocks. the compound on the processor die itself came off accidentally with just a simple swipe of a tissue, though I verified it's cleanliness by using ArtiClean.
