am finally getting around to writing my review for my customized Apollo PC
computer. The Good There are some concerns I will address later
in this review but first off it’s been exactly a week since I hooked up and
started playing on my PC and so far it has been working amazingly, I have run
Skyrim, Rome II and STO(Star Trek Online) at max settings without a problem and more games to come. I even
ran the benchmark on Rome II and was getting 87.1 FPS on ultra. My PC has been
running cool nothing overheating or running too hot. I love the way it looks,
it almost looks like something out of a sci-fi movie when it is on with all the
green fans and lights on. The option to turn up or down the fan on the case is
a bonus. I probably could of gotten a bigger power supply which I might upgrade
later down the road it’s been working great so far. As for the customer service for this company
I would say it is easily an A+ you can watch your PC go through different
stages all the way to the secret Stage 7. I was in constant contact with Alex
who was a tremendous help who relayed any questions to his technicians and he got
back to my emails as quickly as he could even when I am sure I was annoying
him. The Bad Well there is some bad it took longer than estimated which is absolutely fine I wanted them to get it right working fine so there is no problem there. The problem was the laser cut fan that caused a black line on my clear case they informed me before it shipped out, so they removed it at my request and refunded the money. Also I was unaware that the OC video card option atomically qualifies you for a OC version of the Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 cards with the ASUS DirectCU II cards. I actually liked the way the Nvidia cards looked and assumed DS would over clock those with stability in mind and the look of them would of looked great with my green lights. The final issue is the clear door on my case had some buffing marks on them that I could not get off, I assume you will need some pictures Alex I will try and get them to you ASAP I have been busy lately, it could of happened in shipping so I will not blame DS for this yet. But don’t let this dissuade you from buying from DS despite the bad I love my PC and it does looks great and work even better than I expected and it was even bigger than I expected, which is why I just ordered a new desk for it. I will try to get you guys some pictures soon or Alex can provide you all with some pictures; I believe his QA team takes pictures before the computer leaves the building. Update!
DS just sent me a new door for some reason it has a small crack by the handle but so did my old one, I did not bring it up to Alex and personally it is something I don't really care that much about, but it is something to take note of Alex if you hear about it from another customer buying an Apollo. Overall though I love the new door no more buffing marks and it looks great! Big props to you Alex and the rest of the DS crew! Edited by StealthG6 - 21 Aug 2014 at 4:50pm |

Glad to hear, I'll have to look into that, could be a production issue from Corsair.

Woohoo and grats! .. up and running and all is good.
BTW, I ~LOVE~ the green on your machine. Pushing me one step closer to replacing all my Vanquish II original Blue lights with green with great pics like those.

Thank you very much for your review. I have been a fan of Digital Storm for a long time, and have been saving all summer to build my dream machine. I couldn't quite decide on what set up I wanted to go with, but I deff knew I wanted lots and lots of green. (It's my favorite color). After reading your review and seeing your pics I am in love, so I went ahead and ordered an Apollo. I paid extra for an expedited build, and one day shipping so hopefully they will start on it Monday and I'll have it by the weekend, but we'll see, stay tuned for a full review and pics once I do get it :) heres my specs

Dwik30 I appreciate your post man, DS is a great company with fantastic customer service. I had a few hiccups and it took a little longer than anticipated but you want them to get it right so I was perfectly fine with them taking their time. Although the waiting like I said in a previous thread I made is like waiting for your dream car to be built. I need to upload the picture of my whole set up some time soon with my RAZR Keyboard and Mouse. You have a nice system there, and you are going to enjoy your system I have no doubt at all. I plan on sometime next year upgrading my GTX 770's to 980's. I am glad I was able to persuade you on choosing DS. Looking forward to reading your review and seeing the pictures of your system. |

I'd love to see more pics of your entire setup, and I'm sure the rest of the DS community would like to as well, I can't believe how active these DS forums are. Digital storm deff has a lot of loyal and enthusiastic customers.
I think as a whole gamer nerds are an impatient lot lol, I've probably checked the status of my comp about 30 times a day, but I'm with you, I'd rather have my pc built right the first time, and really like how personal and hands on DS is with every system they build. I don't mind the wait if it means getting that perfect custom comp right out of the box. The status updates is a really nice touch, but I think DS should set up a live feed of there workbench area lol, I'd probably watch them build comps all day. |

Once in awhile, Nav sneaks over to the build bench and posts pics of higher end machines in the process of coming to life or in testing. It's a beautiful thing. |
