Budget:
~$1500

Expectations:
I'm hoping this desktop will be able to get a solid (~25-60 high req, 75-100+ low req) fps for the next few years without me having to upgrade it every year or so.

Note: I'm hoping for these frames, but it'll be an improvement from what I have regardless, so I'll take what I can get.

Usage:
-General gaming/Web browsing. Things like Dungeon Defenders/League of Legends/DOTA/Starcraft/WoW/Planetside.
-Some recording/video editing/rendering.
-2 Monitors, 1920x1080 and a 1440x900. 1440 will likely be replaced in the near future.

Saved Ticket #:
873952

Special Needs:
-I have alot of games/recordings/videos on my computer and need space for them. 1TB is pretty much required, though I may get an external at some point for the videos/recordings.

Hi Haldark.... The Bolt is a nice rig.   The 770 will game real nice on a single monitor but with gaming on two the fps will drop.   Not sure what those gamee need.      But, it should meet your needs. The gtx 770 is a nice card

I would recommend the i5-3570k chip but with the H77 motherboard you can't overclock anyways. The 3570 does have a higher clock speed and integrated video but for your budget the 3350 will work great. With the gtx770 you don't need integrated video so its all good.

I think it looks good.     Good luck.

Looks like a solid build. I am not sure why DS hasn't gone to Haswell on these systems, it maybe to keep the price down.

I would suggest you look at the Vanquish systems. They are the best price/performance you will be able to get from DS. With those systems, you can't configure it at all. For a <$50 more a Level 4 Vanquish will get you a faster latest generation CPU, a closed liquid cooler for the CPU, a bit more powerful power supply and an SSD for a boot/programs drive.

Oh, and don't forget the free T-shirt! ;-)

Configuration looks great! Haldark, welcome to our community.

The team is not 100% happy with the extra heat output from Haswell processors in a small system like the Bolt. In addition, we're able to overclock the Z77 platform a lot better than Z87 when it comes to thermals.

In the end, the Bolt with the Z77 is definitely an epic platform.

Awesome, thanks for all the feedback.
I'll take a look at the Vanquisher, Danjw1.

The Bolts are definitely awesome rigs for the small space they consume... The Vanquish lineup will definitely give you more bang for the buck but also take up more space. Can't go wrong with either setup!
