My computer shipped!! :)

    I got an email telling me that my computer has been shipped.  I'm really psyched.  I hope everything goes smoothly.  I hope UPS doesn't destroy it. I hope it works really good when it gets here. I already got everything set up for it to come.   Except "good" speakers, I'm working on that.  I have to pay off some of my credit card bill first. It's been maxed out. 

After I've been attacked with a virus or trojan of some kind on this computer, I feel very hesitant about connecting my new computer up to a wireless routing system.  I don't want anybody hacking my new baby.  I saw on the news how easy it is for hackers to get into your wireless connection and take your information. I really don't know much about security or computers in general but I think I know WPA is better than WEP, right? That's one of the things they covered in the news story. So, I'll use that security configuration.
Are there any other suggestions of what I should do to protect my computers before running it on a wireless system? 
Any help would be appreciated.

	What information is there to take if this is just a gaming system? But just get yourself a firewall, setup WPA, then enable Mac Address Filtering, then disable the ssid broadcast. :)

	You lucky dog, Wow.!!!!!! I can not wait for the day when I get the email or phone call that tells me my rocking rig has shipped! It has cost me tons of cash, stress due to delays and a girlfriend that I dumped because she did something to really PO me off one day (Sky knows that saga) and still I am like a six year old at Christmas thinking about this rig! Grats to you. Lets pray that UPS does not use your box as a tire wedge, foot ball or punching bag. Please, keep us all updated on it!!!!!!!!!!!! Drooling as we speak! Hey, matter of fact, where is Olbull? He got his like 4 days ago and was supposed to post us some groovy updates! I guess he is too busy enjoying his DSO system to talk to us pee-ons anymore. Ugg, the envy!

	Grats to you Pineapplerum!!! I know how it feels. D L, will do an in depth update in a few days, still getting everything up and running, changed over, resolving a minor sound issue, etc. I'm using my old and new puter at the same time but only with 1 crappy crt monitor, so I have to move the cable from one to the other, till I get my KVM switch installed. No internet live to the DS yet.........................but soon. No web surving, mail, etc. for the new DS Bad Boy, just on-line connections to game servers. So right now I have 2 of everything. Wires all over the place, 2 sets of speakers, the place is a mess. rotflmao And I just can't resist playing just a bit with the DS.....................slow going. D L, your system is gonna crank! It'll make my look like a toy. Now sit up....................good boy. Super dave

	Hi, Kelly thank you for letting me know about those things. I've made a list and I will be following it when my computer arrives. Doglover, I am soooo excited! I know you've been waiting quite awhile now. I know what you mean about being a 6 year old around Christmas. Yep! Me too. Thanks OlBull.
