I've not yet received my DSO computer (or even paid for it LOL) but so far I can already say I am very pleased with the amount of service and help I've received here! I've been to many other gaming computer sites just to check things out and compare prices and the like. I believe DSO was the 4th or 5th I went too, after Alienware and Falcon Northwest and a few other local places.
Of course, price is a major factor whenever anyone buys anything, and I figured out a computer VERY similar to mine from Falcon northwest would cost about 6k. Double what I'm going to pay here.

As a Canadian, I unfortunately do not receive free shipping and handling. But, considering my choices are a good computer + paying shipping and handling OR a good computer at double the cost with free shipping.... whats the better choice....
The only free to ship places I could find in Canada had etiher really overcosted computers, or really overcosted bad quality ones. I checked multiple review sites, and all of the companies I was finding were infamous for bad computers.

Then, a google search found me a gold nugget. Searching up 'gaming computers' on google and going through the sites systematically one by one I ended up on Digital Storm Online at the second to last website on the first page. And the fact that I could design right there (at work Wink) both gave me something to do and let me compare prices to quality. I was then able to go on the forums and actually read answers from /people that worked for DSO!/ That was a big surprise to me, and got me really interested in DSO. I hadn't heard of a single online computer site that had that kidn of service, and it is pretty much why I didn't pass over DSO.
Keep up the good work!Clap

There has been a few setbacks which were quickly overcome, such as my inability to reach DSO through the toll free number (Due to me being Canadian), My inability to place an order online (Due to me being Canadian), and last my inability to pay with my mastercard! (Due to... you guessed it. My Canadian issued mastercard)

Even with all these burdens (None of which were DSO's fault.) I've managed to place my order for my computer with the help of Dave, who has been nice enough to call me twice on my cellphone and give me some great advice as we got it all sorted out. Another thing I liked! People calling me!  Big%20smile

I've had nothing but quickly solved problems here, all of them within a day and always at no extra cost for me, which are the best ways to solve problems! Clap

I even had a question about why the total cost of my computer was coming up at about 130$ more then I guessed, and it was quickly knocked down just about that much in 2 hours! That is quick service!

I'm really looking forward to actually /getting/ the machine. I'll be sure to post the day I get it, and include a plethora of photos of the beast.

  Keep up the good work!

Just look at it this way Rai, by ordering this computer now when the Canadian dollar is so high, you've saved way more than what it cost you for shipping.  In fact, you should probably buy another computer now just in case the dollar falls back down!

I thought so too, until I ordered, I think the wait is worse!  Sooo excited, I can't wait to see a ship date so I can let my work know what days I won't be showing up!

i have to say, this is by far the best gaming computer site iv ever seen, and iv been to quite a few. just until now alienware was my fav, but they havnt got half the options you can choose from on DSO!
unfortunately my computer right now is only a year old, and i spent 5k on it, so i dont just wanna pay another 9k right away. but in a year or two im surely gonna get me one of DSO's!

Yes I did!

It looks very neat and organized, and a lot more descriptive then I expected.

Although it confused me to see a stage 6!

I started wondering why everyone on the forum got so excited for being in stage two!

::Stage 2: (Inventory Assignment)
A special component bin has been assigned for your order. We then locate components from our inventory and placing them inside your component bin. If any components are out of stock, we are then waiting for them to be delivered to our storage center. Once all of the hardware is inside your component bin, it is then placed in queue for phase 1 stress-testing. ::

Oooooh, fancy!

I'll be waiting for stage 6 Tongue

Yes, the new step emails were great.  As an FYI, I proceeded through all the steps correctly, up to Stage 5 I think, but my final email referred to Stage 3, so that may need to be corrected.

  Another update!

I was wondering why it shows me as having been in stage one for three days, so I sent a private message over the forum to Alex to ask if there was any delays...

And I learned I was in stage 3 and my ETA on shipping was 2-3 business days!!

This greatly exceeded my expectation, considering all I've been hearing of backorders and DS being slowed down! I was fully expecting to be waiting at least 2 weeks for it! LOL
