Howdy. I recently ordered a DS computer. I haven't yet received it, but I'd like to share my experience so far.
I ordered the Cooler Master HAF 932 special hot deal thing they had going on. looked pretty nice for the price. Part of that deal included Priority Build: Ship Within 72-Hours After Order Is Successfully Processed. anyway, my order was processed and moved on to Stage 1 on Sept. 10 Made it to Stage 5 on the 14th. On Sept. 17th I get a Delay of Progress email. and I phone call letting me know there was a delay of progress. He had to leave a voicemail cuz they called while I was at work. On Sept. 21st I get another Delay of Progress email. this time when they left a voicemail (they again called while I was at work) they actually told me what they delay was. seems my Processor: Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Factory Overclocked to 4.0GHz was simply not workable. Was kinda dissappointed because they couldnt deliver what was advertised, but at this point I dont care, I just want my computer. Well, on Sept. 21st they also push it to Stage 6 -and- Stage 7 (whoa, blazing) and give me a nice little email saying my machine has been top to bottem verified by technicians and there is a 0-1 day est. shipping date from Sept. 21st. Sept 24th, Delay of Progress email, followed by you're order has shipped email twice. I guess the delay of progress in shipping my finished computer was whoops we forgot. I dunno. Anyways, my computer has shipped and, according to my tracking number, FedEx believes it will be here Sept. 30th! Cant Wait. |

Just a few more days and the beast will be there!
Use this time to back-up the old computer and get the home ready for the new dream machine.

@KangarooJr,
We've recently just started a new 'delay notification' system with our order management process. We were fine tuning it in the past, and that's most likely why you received conflicting updates, etc..
The 4.0GHz overclock on the i5 was achieveable in our first batch of testing, and as retail CPUs, and motherboards arrived, they weren't as friendly with overclocking compared to the engineering samples. Instead of trying to ship out unstable or units that could have issues down the road, we took an executive decision to provide a stable, problem free unit instead. Plus, it's only a 200MHz or 1% performance difference between 3.8GHz and 4.0GHz.
