Hey guys,
I got my DS on friday, everything is perfect so far, I love it.
All I can say, it really worth waiting for a system like this.
I feal bad that I got frustrated a couple of times waiting for the computer, calling DS, and arguing about my system, but you know it was my first time with DS...
As of now, I will 100% buy any pc, laptop from DS and will wait for it even if it takes 2 months...
A big credit to Alex, without you I would maybe ended up canceling my order and going to another company. Thanks a lot Alex for making me stay here, and for all the support u gave me with my system, it was was more than excellent. I will put pics soon
I have a couple of questions regardign my system:
1-My cpu temp is always around 67,while everything else in the case is around 40, anything I should consider doing.
2- I run cpuz, my cpu is at 2.00 and it keeps jumping up and down to 3.0, I got the bios its 3.12, and the option forgot the name of it by intel is disabled... any comments?
3- While playing crysis, I go to the options, system settings, and I chose auto detect option, it puts everything to very high, but while playing its slow.
4- PC mark score was 10,975 and 3d mark was 12,350, I think it's low right ?
I have evga 780i borad, qx9650 3.0 cpu, evga 8800 ultra, 4g corsair dominator

1) 67 degrees C is pretty darn hot. What are you using to determine this and under what conditions?
2) Intel CPU's have a power saving feature where the clock multipyer is set to 2/3 normal when the CPU isn't working hard. It's not disabled.
3) Define slow. Crysis is a pig; more so under Vista. I don't think anybody is happy with the performance of Crysis on Very High settings. Try cutting back the screen resolution. In any event, the bottle neck is not the CPU.
4) I have no clue, but who cares? It's just a number. Edited by Bill the Cat - 03 Feb 2008 at 3:46pm |

You need to remount the heatsink if it reads 67C in the BIOS.

While you're waiting to talk to DSO, download copies of Coretemp.exe and Prime95.exe for temp testing.

1. What is your core voltage set to in your BIOS?
2. C1E Halt State can also reduce your clock to save energy, even if speed step is disabled. 3. Disable the AA and AF if you want to play with very high detail in Crysis. The hardware to run that game at very high settings with AA and AF enabled does not exist. If you want AA/AF enabled, you'll need to pick and choose which setting to run at higher detail, and be prepared to run at lower resolutions than you might be accustomed to otherwise. 4. There is nothing particularly wrong with those scores. I wouldn't stress over synthetic benchmarks. Edited by Tyler Lowe - 04 Feb 2008 at 2:28am |

Speedfan isn't going to give you accurate temperature readings until it's adjusted.
Download Coretemp 0.961, or RightMark CPU Clock Utility to get temps inside of Vista. Both will work with Vista 32bit. Your MCP is rated up to 100*C, but 85*C is a bit high. The MCP is the Southbridge controller on NForce motherboards. The MCP is responsible for managing your I/O devices, and PCI devices such as your GPU's. It normally does not get as hot as your SPP (Northbridge) which is your memory controller and connection between the Southbridge and the CPU. |

If that Vcore reading from Speedfan is accurate, even I think that is getting rather close to the red line of 1.5 V. I'd say it's time to think about dialing back your overclocking. What does CPUz report for Vcore?

Xrae, Please note, a extreme edition quad-core processor is not going to run cool when your stressing it.
It also depends if your processor is overclocked, and how high...

When I placed my order I did not want anything to be overclocked. How can I make sure its not ? |
