Received my pc today. Even crossing the entire country from California to the DC metro area it was in perfect condition when I got it.

It has been quiet, amazingly powerful and fast. Looks great and the rgb stuff isn't my thing, but a cool touch none the less. I use mine as a DAW for audio production and it has been amazing seeing the differences between my only 3 year old rig I built and this one.

The wait was longer than anticipated, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Can't think of any way I dont use them for my next upgrade in a few years.


Thanks so Alex, Nav and Ryne for putting up with my constant harassment. Stellar if something goes wrong you will know my unique skills soon!

I appreciate that, Stellar! I've used pro tools since about 2000 and suddenly find myself using Studio One more and more. 5950x is absolutely killing it in that regard. Been at 196khz 24 bit with no issue.

Hey DC,

Are you using a native or HDX version of ProTools?

Can you comment as to what system you bought, what IO you use, what kind of performance you get, what buffer sizes work for you, and what kind and how many of native plugins you are using?

I know that’s a big ask. As much or as little as you like, of course - we are all busy. But I’m looking to supplant my main composing rig (or replace it) with a monster PC, and my primary use is lots and lots of VI’s. Full orchestra and band and percussion and many convolution reverbs. Would rather do it from a single machine than from a satellite system, which I currently use - and my software is platform-agnostic, so PCs are a good option now. It’s ProTools and Cubase for the most part and I have an HDX card and HD IO.
