While researching monitors for my soon to arrive new computer I came across this site: http://lcd24-7.info/Default.aspx
Clicking on "monitors" at the top of the page will bring up a huge listing of displays. From there you have links to tons of reviews and specs. I still can't decide on which to buy but this page has been a big help. I'm torn between these two: HP LP2475w and Dell™ 2408WFP. |

LP2475w is superior in every way. H-IPS > S-PVA

Are there any latency problems with this display for gaming?

What makes the choice so difficult is my overall usage of the computer. Yes I want to be able to max out the graphic choices on my games with little or no lag but I also use the computer for many other things. My wife and I need an easy on the eyes, quality reproduction, of printed pages. There is also lots of photo editing where quality of color is very important.
Ips and mva/pva screens have different qualities that make each better at certain things. It is this fact that that makes my choice one of compromise, although I do think that I would be happy with either the Dell or the HP. Plus the Dell is about $100 less. The following site has all the info on the differences in the screen types. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/faq.htm |
