Very nice. Although I would really recommend having them change that 500GB HDD. The "Blue" versions are the entry level economy versions. The Caviar Blacks have a better warranty and are built from slightly better parts. In particular the Blue drives are known to be made with cheap parts and can run loud.

For the Caviar Blacks the 1TB will be your best options as it has the best speed and cache size. The 750GB is just as good (same speed and cache) but I don't think DS offers it. You could have them order it but that would delay your build.

I did take your advice into consideration, and I appreciate it greatly, however I will end up using about 200 of the 500 GB's on that Drive.

If you don't need the space I would still go with the Black version and not the Blue version. Again better warranty of 5 years vs 3 years, larger cache of 32MB cache vs 16MB, better parts(quieter bearings).

You are spending so much on your system why go with the cheap/economy version if you don't have to?

Buffer speed doesn't interest me to a large enough extent. Although I am spending a substantial amount on this computer, I still prefer to find value where it should be served. Its like finding Alpha, and it just didn'trepresent a good investment.

Hi Kaskade,

The WD 1tb offers better speeds and is a much better value than some of your other choices.
