no one can accurately predict how long hardware will last.  how long before a component fails varies, it can happen during initial testing or last several years. 

if you meant how long will the system be able to perform at the power level you've built it for?  hardware is constantly upgrading.  a pc i built on based on a Sandy Bridge proc 5 years ago, is ~20% less powerful (IPC) than the Sky Lake proc based system i have now.  however, the Sandy Bridge can still be used with today's most current graphics (Pascal) with a minimal of bottlenecking in certain gaming situations.
