1.  Should i do these  upgrades?
-motherboard:
nVidia 680i LT Core 2 Quad (By: eVGA) (nForce 680i SLI)
-memory:
2GB DDR2 Corsair at 800MHz Dominator(Dual Channel)(High Perfor.)
-
nVidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB (By: eVGA) (PCI-Express)
-stage 2 cooling

2.  Should i go with the Vista Home Premium in 32 or 64 bit.

My budget is  around $1800  and with all the upgrades it should be around there.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Request an ATI HD3850 instead of the 8600GTS offered. It will be roughly the same price and will offer twice the performance. If you plan on installing more RAM later, the 64 bit OS is necessary. If you don't, the 32 bit OS is fine.

As far as the upgrades, you don't need a better Mobo if you're not going to overclock or run SLi. The 8800GT is more expensive but definately offers up a huge performace boost. However, given the casual nature of your gaming, and the titles listed, I would think the HD3850 would offer sufficient performance. There is a small performance boost even without overclocking between the 667 RAM and the 800MHz. For the small difference in price, I would do it. XMS is sufficent to see those gains.

Well I made some adjustments and came under the $1800 budget @ $1766.  Does this rig look good for a mid range system that'll last 3-4yrs.  Im open to any other suggestions.  Thank you for looking.

1. Don't bother with 64b vista if you're just getting 2 gigs of ram.

2. Save 20 bucks by getting the AC freezer pro 7 fan off of newegg yourself instead of stage 2 cooling. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134&Tpk=arctic%2bcooling%2bfreezer%2b7%2bpro

3. No raid setup for your two identical HDs? Shocked

4. You might as well get the q6600 since pretty much every decent game that is being released supports multiple cores.

5. You may not have noticed, but you have the keyboard/mouse combo on the order (cutting this out can save you 30 bucks).

*edit*

6. Might as well cut out the round cabling, and buy them yourself (dirt cheap) from your local PC hardware store, or an e-tailer.

7. With the money you saved by cutting out that unnecessary crap, why not get the 8800 GTS 512 instead of the GT? Or at least buy an aftermarket fan for your GT.
