Holy crap ram..lol. 1000W with that high end set up should be alright if you want to add a second GX2 later, but id ask a DS sales person first. Also make sure the power connectors are right, youd need a another 8 pinner for a second one. I dunno the total specs on that power supply.

A lot of people seem to wish they had a larger harddrive instead of a faster raptor, but hey its your money. But i guess thats what the 2nd harddrive is for..so it doesnt matter.

Also keep in mind your enchanced airflow cables selection is only for the optical drive, and since you have one drive your paying that fee for one cable, youll get extra cables but in a sense your paying for one actual cable that will be in use.

Other then that it looks like a crazy good set up you have going.

wow...
I agree with Sunfighterlc on the psw.
And another thing. If you want wireless internet, than the High Speed Network Port is not the thing for you. Its a landline port, not an ethernet port so it really depends on if you want/have wifi or not.
Otherwise, its an incredible high-end rig that'll last you years.

Thanks for the responses. I am going landline with internet access. I have a perfect house setup for it that is why I have that setup. On the hard drive point, I am going to use the raptor for Vista and games and the 2nd hard drive all of the other stuff. The power supply is SLI ready so that is covered incase of future impulsive spending. I am not going with liquid GPU cooling because incase of future upgrades I won't need to send in the computer and I can do it myself. Plus I live in Florida and that is a long time to be without a system if I need to send it in for anything. I am still torn between the 2x9800gtx and the 9800gx2. I have no idea why. Thanks for pointing out the cable system I misread it.

I went with the 9800gx2 for a couple reasons. first, the performance difference is minimal as far as ive seen, its a 100 or so cheaper, and one card instead of two, one less thing to go wrong :P by the time ill need to add another card the price should be down quite a bit, i did make sure to go with the 1000w psu just in case

You are air cooling. If budget is not a constraint, the better cooling offered by the 9800GTX could be worthwhile, although I assume living in Florida, your home is well air conditioned. I think Sargeman has the right idea. You really could not go wrong with either card. One thing to note as far as reliability, if you did have a failure of a single 9800GTX, the other could be used without SLI while you sent for a replacement, whereas if the 9800Gx2 fails, you have no display at all.

as much as i bow down to tylers words most of the time (not sarcasm)
id say that getting SLI *just in case* a video card fails is kind of over the line..
are you also going to have a second set of ram, a second HD, a second mobo, and a 2nd lightscribe drive on standby?

ender!, the portion of my post which you quoted was as a counterpoint to sargeman's contention that a single 9800x2 offers greater mechanical reliability than a single 9800x2. No one is going to suggest that the reason to purchase an SLI setup is for component redundancy, least of all me.

I have no problems with someone questioning my opinion. If you want to quote me to disagree, please do not take something I've said out of context and ridicule me for it.

I am finally going to go with this setup. I am sticking with the gx2 so I can go add another one in a couple of months when I feel it is time. I know the redundancy issue being a current SLI owner and also a scuba diver but I want to go quad gpu eventually. Wink Thanks for all of the help.

That looks good, but I have two suggestions:

Opt for the 1200W PSU if you plan on running quad SLI later on. You won't draw that much power, but it'll help keep you well under the 75% load mark and running at higher efficiency levels.

I would also request the enhanced fan package so that you get as much airflow for those 9800x2's as possible. They really don't have the best coolers from the standpoint that they dump most of their hot air back into the case. Increasing airflow in the case will help to avoid adverse effects on the rest of your system's performance.

Thank You. I placed my order and upgraded to the 1200 and requested the fan package.
