Well, after a great start, my new DS PC filed last night.  I don't think its anything the guys at DS did wrong but right now I have a very expensive PC that won't boot.  Here is what happened :

I turned on the PC and started playing EQII.  About 45 minutes into playing I saw a blue screen flash and then the PC powered down.  When I tried to reboot it it went through POST and it recognized the 1TB RAID (my OS is on a separate drive from the RAID) but then it gives an error that says "Disk read error - Press cntrl-alt-del to reboot".  It gives me that error evey time I start up the PC now.  It looks like a drive failure or a corrupt OS file.  I'm hoping tech support will have some things I can try to fix the issue - and I'm hoping that I don't have to reload my OS on a new drive.  Anyway, I'll post again after I've had a chance to talk to tech support.

You might want to check the SATA connection at the HDD.  Since you've got three disks, you might have the same problem as I've had (I have four).  The tech who wired mine tied the cables too close to the HDD's and put a bunch of pressure on the top and bottom cables.  I had to go in there and adjust them so that the connectors had full contact again.  After that, it was fine.

I think Crulend is on to something there. Check the cables. If that doesn't work, give us a call and we'll go through some troubleshooting steps.

Thanks guys.  When I went home for lunch today, I unplugged the PC for 20 seconds and then booted.  It booted up just fine.  This is after not being on for about 12 hours.  Not sure if its heat related or something else.  I did notice some errors in the event system log - they were controller errors.  I ran chkdsk and it found errors and so I ran chkdsk /R.  I had to get back to work so I wasn't able to watch it complete.  I'll check on it after work and check the cables and then get back to you.

Thanks again.

Not completely sure yet, but I think the chkdsk /R may have fixed it.  Chkdsk did find errors on the hard disk.  May I make two suggestions to DS that might help to alleviate some issues?  Run a chkdsk on the machines as part of your testing and defrag the hard drives before you ship them (if you don't already).  My drives were badly fragmented and chkdsk found errors on my system partition.
I'll follow up with more status after I've had a chance to run it for a longer priod of time.

Thanks.

Interesting..... I wonder how the HD of a new machine could get "badly fragmented. I don't know how DSO loads S/W onto new machines. Maybe their networked image has gotten chewed up over time?

Just FYI - The defrag and chkdsk /R seem to have fixed the issues.  I'm playing EQII for hours now with no issues.  I suppose the HD just had a bad sector or something.  Thanks.
