I'm still getting settings set, tweaks performed and programs installed, but I wanted to take a few minutes to get some pics posted and give a bit of an initial review.

Like I said in a previous post, my feelings about UPS aside, they got my new system here in one piece with not a single loose screw.  There was an 'anomoly' on the side of the box - highlighted in the pic.

I don't know if someone was trying to get a peek at the awesome contents or if they used it as a hold while picking up this titan of a box.

I know mine looks a lot like others who have posted pics of their new Digital Storm's here, but it's definitely different.  Notice the desk that this Digital Storm is parked at.  :)   It's mine!

As to using the computer, I haven't encountered problems yet except that I can't get Crysis to play.  I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I'll either sort it out tomorrow or I'll plead for help tomorrow.  There are a few programs and a scanner driver that Vista 64-bit doesn't like, but these things were expected.  Luckily I've got XP Pro also on this system.

Thankx again to all at Digital Storm who helped me and put my new computer together and thankx to all in the forums who have provided sage advice and wisdom.  I'm sure to have many more questions as time goes on.

Nice looking machine. The wiring is all neat and tidy. Smile
Judging by the placement of your desk (with the stairwell having a peek-a-boo view of your legs) you must be a guy and not a girl. Unless you like showing off your legs and ... Embarrassed
LOL! Good luck with crysis! Hope all goes well.

The computer was just over $3000.  The monitors were on sale.  Just under $300 each - Dell SP2208WFP's.  The desk actually only cost $250 and I've had it for about 7 years.  It's a great desk.  Lots of space and easy to hide cables around the back.

And widdlecat.....yes, I am a man.  My girlfriend calls my new computer my Russian mail-order bride.

Nice set up!

As for this "Russian mail-order bride" statement, your right.  I paid over 4500 for my beast (not including upgraded shipping, a new 22 inch monitor, new Razer key board and another APC surge / back-up) and people tell me that I am out of my mind!

They just don't understand.  I don't just want to play my games, I want to max them out and become a part of them!

Thought you meant DS as in Nintendo's DS system.  :p

I like your Desktop's wallpaper, PC table and DS' cabling which look clean.  Like the attachment of the Zalman fans as well.

The box could be used to have your animal (dog or cat preferred) inside to show devotion towards the company.

Update:

Don't know why I was having problems, but Crysis is running now.  I tried Very High settings and it brought this computer to its knees.  High settings seem to work quite well though.

Ya, your not gonna be able to run it at VH settings.

I have mine set at High, with object quality at VH and 1024 x 768 and that is the optimum settings as choosen by the game it self.  If I try to tweak up the resolution, the game won't work.  I can, however, run everything on VH and you really can not tell the difference between that and just High.

That is one hell of a nice machine.  I love those little ram fans lol. Kinda sucks i wont be getting them, mostly due to the fact i wanna upgrade my ram like within a month or two of ordering, so basically getting overclocking would just be a waste.

SunfighterLC .....  For as long as you've been waiting and dreaming about building your new Digital Storm, when it is finally in your hands I'm betting your build will not only be the envy of many but the little ram fans won't even register as things you remember wanting.

Honestly, I would put the memory fans in there if they didn't work they really look awesome. If you want to get the fans, u can just get them off newegg for like 20 bucks, I'd imagine that DS would let u just get the fan ?
