The DS team just finished building my SX17 laptop and I'm extremely excited to get my hands on it. They sent me the final QA tests, and I had a couple questions for those with more experience and knowledge than myself about keeping the laptop cool.

Here's the info:
Processor Temperatures

Idle: 41C
Overnight Load: 79C

I know laptops run hot, and I imagine that this is a pretty normal temp for the laptop I ordered. My question is does anyone have any advice on keeping the laptop system cool during use? I do plan on gaming with it (WoW and Warhammer, probably some of the new MMO's when they are released, Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 when it is released), although I won't be running Crysis at max setting or anything like that. I purchased a cooling pad with the laptop that I plan on using, and I'm going to make sure I get a nice flat wooden desk to keep the laptop on. That's about the extent of my expertise when it comes to keeping the laptop cool. If anyone has any suggestions on what they do to keep their systems cool and healthy I'd really appreciate any advice.

Cleaning wise I plan on using spray duster to keep the fans and vents clear.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks for the response. Do you happen to have any advice on cleaning? I don't really feel comfortable opening the laptop up, but I want to make sure I keep it as dust free as I can. Is spray duster enough?

Actually, I've seen things you can buy that you can set your laptop on.  They're pretty much just a small "box" of sorts with fan's that blow air up the bottom of the laptop.  Not sure how well they work, but I've seen them here and there being advertised.  Could be more gimmic than function.

I think the cooling pad I ordered is similar to what you are talking about. Once I use it a bit I'll update its' effectiveness.
