Hello I am new to the Digital Storm forums been lurking here awhile waiting on the new fermi cards to come out. just wanted to say hello to everyone what do u guys think of my build? I would also like to thank Sarah for helping me out with this build as well as Dst and Justin u guys seem to help alot of people that is really nice of ya guys. I think I have a solid build I do not plan on going sli that is why I opted for the 750 psu from what I have seen on youtube in the watts department for the 480 is around 485 watts for the full load so I should be ok their. Coming from a old single core 3.2 with a 256 old 7800 nvidia graphics card this is a big upgrade for me lol.
anyway just wanted to say hi leave a comment on the system if you like this will be my first Digital Storm computer. Thanks to everyone at Digital Storm Sarah Alex all u guys keep up the great work. I could have went with Alienware I mean Junk ware or I buy junk or cyber junk but from the customer service and all the great responses I have seen on the forums I went with Digital Storm I think I made a good choice![]() System Configuration: Chassis Model: Cooler Master HAF 932 (Black OPS Edition) Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: Paint Chassis Vents and Grills (Red) Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: EVGA X58 LE Edition SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports SLI or CrossFire) System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Seagate/Hitachi/Western Digital (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVDR/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: DVDR/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 1.5GB (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional (PCI-Express Slot Based) Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Noctua NH-D14 Extreme Performance (Does NOT fit on the regular EVGA X58 3X SLI) H20 Tube Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Green) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks CPU Boost: FREE: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Requires Air Cooling Upgrade) Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Memory Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: Nero Express CD Writing Suite Benchmarking: - No Thanks Pre-Install Game: FREE: Please include a free copy of a hot-selling game Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty |

with the CPU and GPU not pushed, and minimal accessories.
with a few accessories, and CPU and GPU well overclocked, it will be pushing most 750 watt PSU's pretty hard.

well thinking long and hard about this I decided to go with a 1000 watt corsair psu this should give me plenty of breathing room without the psu giving out on me

you have plenty of breathing room, you will not need to oc the gpu so you have plenty of room trust me.
to need the 1000w you would have to oc the heck out of your gpu, you don't even need to oc it for your res and use, let along oc the heck out of it. you will need the 1000w only if you gonna go sli. Edited by DST4ME - 30 Mar 2010 at 5:38pm |

that is why I keep pushing for DS to get the Corsair HX850.... very good power supply. better than the HX 1000, and better quality, and cheaper..

but justin most people are not going to oc the 480 let along a high oc on gpu to push it so that the system needs a 1000w.
tho the 850 is very nice. you got this guy worried now, thinking he needs a 1000w, but he won't with a stock 480. Edited by DST4ME - 30 Mar 2010 at 5:53pm |

not stock, no, but you never know what you might add in a years time, and the TX PSU is poor. the HX1000 is mid, and the pro series seems very good so far, at least get a HX750. lol

ya if you want to sli then you do want the 1000w and that would be a good reason to choose it.
Our pleasure and good luck

I would love to see DS offer the Corsair HX850, in addition to allowing for extra OC room as Justin has pointed out it would allow people to run 2x 5870s without having to upgrade to a 1k PSU.
