My third DS rig... never had so much as a squeak of a problem with past builds!

Gaming, sure... but also use it for Adobe editing in Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro (often workflow with most open at once with larger files). As with my past DS builds - this will be my rig for a few years to come...

Also ordered the Alienware AW3423DWF

I order for the first time on 2/13/2023. Very pumped for my first gaming PC. Hope it gets here soon. anyone know what the time frame is and how long from order to ship?

It's probably fair to expect a month or so depending. There was a pretty big backlog over the holidays. Mine just got moved to stage 2/parts allocation yesterday.

A fulfillment bin with all critical components has been placed with our assembly team, and they have added it to their internal backlog. An expert system builder will soon begin working on your order.

Hit stage 4 - been almost 8 weeks

Stage 4 - Assembly Started:
An expert builder has started working on your order and carefully installs the components, and completes wiring throughout the chassis. There may be a possibility that we're still waiting for accessories or non-essential components. However, we're starting the process now to get your order done as soon as possible.

I wonder if Digital Storm has plans to improve their order status system by incorporating email notifications that inform customers of their position in the queue for each step of the process. This would grant customers greater transparency regarding their order's progress.

For instance:

Your order is currently in - Stage 1: Backlog Queue #7 (with 1 being the last position before moving to the next stage).

As another system leaves the backlog, the customer would receive an email update:

Your order is now in - Stage 1: Backlog Queue #6

This would apply to every stage of the process, providing customers with a clear understanding of their order's progression.

Also, in situations where inventory or troubleshooting complications occur, orders could be held in a general review status until they proceed to the subsequent stage.

For Example: Your order is now in - Review Inventory #7 (inventory being the given reason for the review).

Ya dig? I'm just fantasizing but I'm certain after dropping a few grand some customers might appreciate a little entertainment in the queue the likes of what you'd find on the line at an amusement park. :)

I get what you are saying but it doesn't actually create "greater transparency." Just being a number in a queue doesn't actually give you any real sense of time.

Example, and true story - I called a Federal agency on awork matter recently and, after 45 minutes on hold, was given the option to save my place in line and get text notices of queue updates and that they would call me back.
It's been TEN DAYS and I have moved up 23 places in the queue :P If, anything, I've learned to hate that number.

Anyway - a number is just a number. And it's not going to speed up the global industry's ability to produce more chips, cards, better shipping. DS is a small company and I'm a patient guy

I didn't imply that it would speed up the process. Anyhow my usage of the terms greater transparency seemed to have elicited a serious connotation which was not my intention. I do agree that it is just a number.

Quick teaser. Can’t describe how fast this is…. Any website instantaneously fast. Launching Cyberpunk in about 5 seconds fast.

Will likely move it to under the desk as it is only slightly smaller than a St. Bernard.
