Hello all,
After may years of building my own gaming PC, I am back to ordering a complete system. I did lots of research from competing companies but keep coming back to Digital Storm. My current DIY is a Sandy Bridge Core i7-2600k, 16GB RAM, Nvidia 560Ti, Dell 27" LCD, Razer Mamba mouse and Razer Black Widow Ultimate Stealth keyboard. Anyway, here are my thougths: 1. DDR 1600 is good enough and 1866 won't make a difference 2. Windows 8 is good enough and I don't need Professional. I am running Professional in a VM on my SAN and could always transfer the license if I need it. Since you can only get DX 11.1 with Windows 8 I am going with it instead of Windows 7. 3. I am moving an OCZ Vertex SATA III SSD and a 500GB Western Digital Black drive from my old system to make them drives D: and E: respectively. 4. I've always used Soundblaster X-Fi sound cards but want to try the integrated audio, since I read that the Sabertooth mobo has upgraded audio, with my Corsair SP2500 speakers. If it doesn't sound good, I'll buy the Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD, which is cheaper on Newegg/Amazon than an upgrade here. I really wanted a Corsair TX power supply or greater but don't need the 1050w HX one so I went with the GS600. Thoughts? If you are sure that the 760 will give the power you need for games then ok.
but keep in mind you didn't leave much room to upgrade the gpu if needed as far as power goes. I personally don't use anything other then ax or hx with corsair as they are the quality psu from them, instead of the cx I would go with evga 750w. change from vertex to noctua if you want good cooling and go with oc stage 1, turbo just pushes one core. careful with Vertex its gonna fail on you. Not sure if that is what is going on, but I forgot to tell him to change his case for better airflow, haf x has great airflow.

Listen to DST4ME - great advice. I too would recommend the EVGA 750 - more for it's modular wiring but the power bump is also worthy. The Noctura is a great cooling solution. The closed loop water coolers do seem to have a rather high failure rate compared to custom water cooling or air cooling methods.
Here's a revised build maximizing gaming performance: 871461 - $2069 (after all current discounts). The i5 is just as good as the i7 for gaming, 8GB RAM is all that's needed for gaming and other general tasks, EVGA 750 PSU, the GTX 770 will blow the 760 away at gaming... |

Thats a nice build fstcvc
I have one thing tho, tho for gaming hyper-thread does not mean much both win7 and win8 support ht and benefit from it, also in the long run it can feel more powerful, so I would stick with i7. |
