I bought my system the 25th of september and i just recieved it today 10/18. They had issues with my 8GB of ram and all of the overclocking issues which delayed the stability of the computer a few weeks. So i get my computer and open the case to ensure everything is in place, it all appears to be except for a small XFX fan that i suppose goes with 1 of my two GTX 280 GPU cards. so its kind of hanging there because i cant seem to find out where it mounts, thankfully its out of the way of everything (thank you zip ties)
next the case has a pretty decent dent in the front left from where someone (i assume fed ex) dropped it, so my little pad there is broken adn my system wobbles if touched.... annoying but i can deal with it i dont plan on moving it.
So i hook my system up and I have some sort of error indicating that "a single graphics card is detected in slot PCIE X16_2 or PCIE X16_3, Please move the grpaphics card to PCIE X16_1 for non-SLI operation" I try to enter the menu but my brand new merc keyboard is not working, I figure OKAY!!! this keyboard needs to actually be installed. So i take a known good PS-2 keyboard and hook it up....you betcha it does not work. So i remove all periphreals(sp?) and just have my keyboard & monitor hooked up. It still wont work!!!!!!!!! So i try ANOTHER ps-2 keyboard and that wont register either. Now its a saturday and i cant get any support because its the weekend. I have been patient for almost a full month for my computer that i unloaded 4500 dollars on. I am understanding and i know things happen so i will judge DS on how they take care of this problem for me.
For now my experience has been less than ideal. The ball is in your court DS
Thanks
Edit: I removed and reset the GPUs and the RAM per the technical forum, all wires appear connected to everything Edited by parapdrapa - 18 Oct 2008 at 6:18pm |

That really sucks.... I havent found anyone else that has had a problem like this
When FedEx dropped the box, it might've shaken/broken some stuff off |

Ouch, I am sorry to hear about that situation.
The system has definitely taken a hit from delivery. This is definitely a damage claim.
The fastest way to resolve this for us to take the system back and send you a new unit and have us deal with the claim ourselves.
Shipping companies usually want you to hold onto the package and wait for an inspector to come and so fourth, but, that would take too long and leave our valued customer without a system.
Your our customer, we will do our best to take care of you, on behalf of the mishandling by the shipping courier.
Your motherboard has developed either hairline cracks on the PCB board and/or the graphics card slot must have torn the solder joints from the sheer impact and weights of the video cards.
We will go ahead and pay for shipping costs and such, (FedEx won't pay for that either). We will do our best to get a replacement unit shipped ASAP and have a pickup issued for the damaged system.
Please make sure you have it packaged in the same method we did to ensure it does not encounter further damage in-transit back to Digital Storm.
UPDATE:
I went in and made the appropriate notes, a FedEx driver will come with a pre-printed label on Tuesday to pickup the damaged computer system. We are going to build a new system on Monday and do our best to ship it ASAP (3 days is our goal). Warmest Regards,

No problem. Everything has been taken care of. I already done everything needed to have the pickup issued and a new build for your replacement system. You should have the new system within 1.5 weeks from Monday. Please email Jason ([email protected]) and he will also forward it to me.
P.S.
This thread will be moved to the appropriate forum (StormDrain) soon.

And these are reasons WHY we buy from Digital Storm.
Sorry to hear of your issues....but DS has no control over shipping. I'm just glad to see they are handling this in the appropriate manner.
I've had my system since this past Tuesday (my 2nd DS system) and I'm just glad to have gotten mine in one piece and working. You will enjoy yours once you get it.....that's the hard part (the waiting).

I would stick with the q9650, but thats just me. the qx9650 runs a bit hot, but if you prefer the extreme then you got to do what you got to do
but don't forget, after you do what you got to do, you got to post the specs of what did and don't forget to post the pics Edited by DST4ME - 19 Oct 2008 at 3:51pm |

Holy Sheeet!
That rig took some beating not to mention some grueling tests back at DS HQ.
FedEx has been crapping out quality-wise lately, much like Corsair Ram, how about UPS? Since DSO can do anything and "CUSTOM" is your middle name is it possible to arrange a UPS delivery or at least being able to choose between FedEx/UPS when youre buying a rig?
I dont trust FedEx anymore, even with a crate!
![]() PS; Once again, DSO's superior customer service prevails. Edited by Nomak - 19 Oct 2008 at 4:23pm |

Experiences much like vary in shapes, sizes and smell.
Ive had good luck with UPS, but maybe, it all comes down to luck with these shipping companies - that and the guy whos actually doing the delivery. Hope for the best!

I don't know how many times you have used ups in the past year but I work with all of them, and if you had as many experiences with them as I have had, then I think you would be were I am.
