I currently own the “Dreadnaught”, which I bought from Digital Storm a several years ago. Looking back, the only real upgrades I’ve done were adding additional HDD’s and an extra graphics card to run in SLI. That system has never faltered, so it was a no brainer on who to buy my next system from. I’ve had my new Velox system for a couple of months now and I’ve had some time to break it in. Unfortunately, FedEx didn’t have the same affection for the new system as I did and there was some damage to the case. Nothing to significant, but DS is taking care of it for me, so I’m satisfied on that end. The only thing I’ve added once my system arrived were two additional SSD drives which I put in raid 0 for the OS.
Below are the specs I ordered. System Configuration: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm Velox Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 5960X 3.0GHz (Eight-Core) (Extreme Performance) Motherboard: ASUS X99 RAMPAGE V (Intel X99 Chipset) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 2800MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX (Extreme-Performance) Power Supply: 1200W Corsair AX1200i (Digitally Controlled Power) Optical Drive: ASUS Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs) (Model: BC-12B1ST) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (250GB Samsung 840 EVO) Graphics Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB (Includes PhysX) Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux Level 1: Digital Storm Exotic Custom Cooling System (CPU + Chipset) H20 Tube Color: Signature HyperYellow Edition: Fluid + Clear Tubing + Custom Yellow Accents Chassis Fans: Upgrade All Fans to Corsair Airflow Performance Edition (Up to 6 Fans) For my experience with ordering and customer service, it’s been on par from what l experienced in the past. The only thing I changed about my order when my system was being built was upgrading my SLI bridge to an Nvidia one. The only one thing that DS got wrong on my order was the ring color of my Corsair fans. I e-mailed them to verify that ring color of my fans would be yellow to match the coolant. I was told that it would be, but when I got the system, the ring color was their default red color. No biggie though, it’ll just be a weekend project to take the fans out and paint them. I absolutely love this case! There’s so much airflow that I actually have to wear a sweater when I’m working or gaming because it’s like sitting next to a mini AC unit. I do wish the window was on the other side though. The way I have my current setup, the window would be facing the wall so I had to place it on the floor. I just put a towel under it so I can easily slide it from under my desk without scratching the floor. As you would expect, I have no problem playing the latest games. I do find myself running out of RAM when using programs like Photoshop, so that’s next on my upgrade list. Other than that, the system has been rock solid! Enjoy the pics! |

Very nice Velox there. I think corsair fans only come in red, white or blue. If you've seen jayztwocentz's 'Skunkworks' rig on youtube, he said he had to paint the fans to yellow.

Hi Shattered,
Thanks for the great pictures. Do you have a 240 or 360 radiator in your machine. It looks like a 360 from the picture. Very hard to tell. Frank |

Thanks Shattered, I thought that looked like a 360. Do you have any temps on your GPUs?
