Ordered my system from DS this week so that it will be there when I get home from deployment. I cannot wait.
Stage 5 already, but hit some problems with the OC and had to change some parts due to stocking shortfalls. Digital Storm, Cassandra and Sonia, have been amazing at updating me step by step on the build process and I couldn't ask for better service. To date they already contacted me and changed my build to include silverstone PSU and a Maximus IV MOBO helping to keep the build progressing smoothly. The biggest problem I have had was differences of opinion from within DS as to wether or not Frost Chill was possible for the SB CPU and if they would integrate it into my build... Their tech department ,Craig and Mike, have been awesome in their communication and willingness to work with me, but I am still getting two sets of answers on exactly what my dual loop Stage 6 cooling will be... Here's hoping it turns out well for CPU and Dual GPU cooling on two loops with a FC.
I wish they would include pictures on their update page so you can verify visually the build progress vs what you ordered and coordinated. Like I said though, their team has been active and informative, which is great.
This is just making time crawl by slower waiting for my tour to be over. I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

I hope you didn't have to pay extra for the psu or the mobo cause there was no reason to.
I would have waited a couple of weeks for the deluxe and corsair to comeout, if you got the upgrade for free then don't worry about it. when you say frost chill do you mean tec or the regular lC? in frostchill regular LC, both looks are LC, in tec frostchill only the cpu is actually tec and I hope your house has a circute that can handle all the power, cause tec needs 800w on its own, that is not counting the psu for the pc itself. I'm not sure why you got a lower noise LC setup and then went and made it loud with the upgraded fans that are not needed in an LC system anyways, plus that case will hold only like 3 or 4 fans anyways, but to each his own, if you got those things cause you wanted to have them, then more power to you, its your pc, it should be what makes you happy Congrats |

Along with the 800w draw of the TEC system, you will need a circuit capable of bursting all the way up to 10 amps, when the system is under heavy load.

Gents,
The sales department,Sonia, contacted me and said they were having problems with the OC. They asked if I wanted an upgrade but quoted no price, so I do not know yet what their plan is. I told them I wanted to keep the OC.
For the cooling. From what I have been told the stage 6 LCS i requested has frost chill, but not TEC. That is how I wanted it setup. I was told TEC is not compatable with SB in addition to the power issues.
I wasn't concerned about the noise as I use Bose speakers or headphones.
I figured I can always get a sound card later.
All things considered, does this sound like a good build gents?

I would rather have a 4.7GHz oc with low vcore and a deluxe mobo, than a 4.9 - 5.2GHz oc and high vcore and spend money on a more expensive mobo.
if the mobo upgrade is free ok if not then forget it, there is little difference in 5.0 vs 4.7, but the vcore will be much higher with 5.0, 4.7 with a vcore of 1.42 or lower is much better then 5.0 and a vcore of 1.48 or 1.50. the build looks fine. So what did you meant as to you were not sure what your LC setup will be? frostchill is just a name they give their LC setup, but frostchill is the lower end LC setup, stage 4 and higher have better water blocks and etc. |

Thanks!
I was trying to discern the exact differences in the lingo with the reps. What I was getting at is I wanted the best combination of cooling for my LCS, which I gather is currently the stage 6, which I asked for. I just got lost in all the frost chill v stage LCS v TEC and exactly what that all meant.
I think I should be pretty happy with the STAGE 6 LCS. Edited by dANGLICO - 07 May 2011 at 2:25am |

well just to clear up for readers
tec, is thermal exchange cooling and is not for SB chips. frostchill is stage 3 LC and has lower performance parts. subzero is stage 4 and higher and has higher performance parts, for example your cpu waterblock is one of teh top ones on the market, stage 3 frostchill does not have that. |

I believe alot of people go with the LED fans for looks over actually cooling, especially if they are using Stage 6.

upgraded a led fans are a bad idea, specially on LC, one point of LC is its quietness, and those upgraded fans are loud.
if you want the looks add lights instead, much cheaper and quiet. |

Not saying I don't agree with you, I'm just saying not everyone looks at strictly performance. I know people who like the looks of fans with LED lights in them. So the more fans, the more lights, and they don't really care about the noise. I on the other hand can't stand the sound of a hurricane in my room so I just prefer to add lights to the fans already in the case, and just lights in general. |

For looks there are more quiet ways of doing it, quieter led fans or just adding lights.
As you can see I got led fans on my pc, and they are very quiet. |

Yeah I like yours. I can't tell but did you paint your fans orange and just use a white LED or orange LED?

They don't sell my fans anymore, but they are orange blade with white led, they are stock, I only had DS paint my ram fan blades.
