I have been looking to replace my 7 yr old PC and when Diablo 3 came out and my system was obsolete for the game, it really put me to work. I use my PC for gaming (Starcreaft, Diablo, Football Manager), movies and music mainly. I want a system that can support two 27 inch monitors and it would be great to get ones that offer 2,560x1,440 resolution. I like the idea of being able to play, watch movies, browse (pick 2) at the same time without switching windows. My budget is up to 5.5k and I want something that can last me another 5 year minimum. I also like lots of hard drive space and memory.
I have been recommended DS by a colleague and reading through these forums have put a config together that I would like to get some feedback on. Greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Hi laputa73....... You put together a great config. If its in the budget then go for it. If you want to save some $$$ then I would suggest you go with the Z77 Deluxe mobo with l7-3770k chip in the Dreadnought level 2 config. The X79 mobo and 3930 k 6 core chip is for video editing, rendering, etc. Gaming will not utilize it. Also, 64gb ram is overkill. Gaming only uses 8gb if that. At least drop to 16gb. Also, the sli gtx 670 for lots less will give you almost the same gaming as sli 680 within 10fps or so. Plus DS just listed the gtx 670 4Gb version. The higher vram will help on 2560x1440 or so resolution. Just a few things to consider and best of luck.

bprat22, thanks for the feedback! having second thoughts abt the 27 inch monitors. bnut go instead for the 23 inch ones and you seem to be big fan of the the delll ultrasharp U2312HM so might go for those instead.

I do like my UltraSharp. If you go with the 23 or 24" monitor you could stick with 2GD version of gtx 670. Lets us know and keep us updated.

Again, a great build. It does have some excess but certainly doesn' t hurt anything. I can be a real pain
but change the cpu cooler to the 240mm Vortex for a quieter and better cooling unit or the Noctua D14 for tops in reliabilty and quiet. And the most important thing.......Don' t forget the free t- shirt. It is free. You're gonna smoke that monitor.
