I do not play any games on my pc.  I use it for video editing and photo work in CS3 along with office apps and internet/email.  I currently have a Dell P4 3ghz with 4gb of RAM.  I am realizing quickly after reading about DS pc's that even though I am not a gamer it would make sense for me to consider the higher quality gained by buying from DS.

I have a few questions:

1.  The opening that I store my tower in is only 17 3/4" tall.  Are there any towers that are shorter than that?  All I have seen is the really tall towers.
2.  Would there be a noticeable difference between 6gb and 12gb of RAM?
3.  I'd like to build a PC that includes:  Core i7-920, 6 or 12gb of RAM, 1.5 TB HD and 1gb video card (type tbd).  Anything I should be aware of or make certain is included in my build?

Thanks!

not sure if you need 12GB for cs3 if your dell with 4GB is doing it then 6GB with this pc should be more then enough.

you don't want a big drive for os always remember:

HDD1 = fast drive: os/apps/games

HDD2 = regular large drive: media/personal/work file storage

Don't fill up your HDD1 more then 50%, if think you will need more room for it then pick a bigger one.

if you don't like the cost of ssd then go with a veloci

I probably wont spend the extra cash on a SSD but thanks for clarifying how to set it up....i may just go 500gb caviar black on OS drive and 1.5TB on 2nd. How many available HD bays do I have?

Also, it seems difficult if not impossible to find measurements of the case? Any insight?

Thanks....so question about the OS hard drive...it only needs to be big enough to hold the OS?  Should be some performance increase by NOT installing it on a big TB drive?

find info on case here

6 HDDS bays, go with a 1TB HDD as HDD2 then the 1.5 TB HDD don't have a great rep in the near past, not sure if all is worked out or not.

as I said it needs to be big enough os that its not 50% full after you put os and whatever apps and etc you want to put on it.

smaller driver is easier to scan, backup, defrag etc. if both drives have 32MB cache then you should not notice a big difference at all.

not good.

psu needs to be corsair.

the micor mobo has only 3 pci lanes, with the gpu will be only 2 and it maxes out at dual sli.

I love the 275 but it does not support dx11, for future games and dx11 support 5770 is better.

asetek sucks, if you want go with Noctua d14 tho the u12 is great also.

no point in gpu oc here, you will see no gains.

you picked a 24" monitor, thats gonna have 1900 x 1200 rs, for that res you gonna want a 5870, high oc 5850, or 2 x 275 or 2 x 5770, remember one card solution is always best.

in short I would not recommend that build.
