well i posted one and DST4ME replied and that ticket # i posted was wrong.
SO lets try this again. want to know if there is a big difference between my config
and the DS GTO other than 780 MOBO vs 790 and DDR2 vs DDR3
will my config be more future worthy or is there no real difference between
DS GTO and my config.would like to save the $$$ but not at outdating the rig

yes they are better, the gto is a great deal but with that PSU and a 280, you can't really add another 280 down the line if you wanted to, well you could but its better to push it with a 860w.
the ATI 4870x2 runs resolutions of 1680 x 1050 or higher great on its own. also these have ddr3 ram which will help you get better OC or a more stable OC. you can use one GPU for 1680 x 1050 or higher but if you want a great experience then go with 2 GPUs. if you are above 1680 x 1050, its recommended that you go with 2 cards for best gaming experience. you must also think about other things, for example you want to keep this PC for a few years. OK well in say 2 years would you like to put in a qx9770 3.2GHz (you can OC this to 3.8) for say $300? if so then the 800MHz ddr2 is not gonna help you get there, you will need higher ram. So you see, if you look at the big picture, the differences become clear. if you order the nvidia, ask them for a evga version of the mombo and gpu I use that version and it kicks some butt Join Us Young Skywalker, Its Your Destiny Edited by DST4ME - 17 Oct 2008 at 1:45pm |
