Well I have around 1,200-1,600 to spend on a computer. My computer knowledge is somewhat lacking but I do know the basics. The games played on it will be MMO's, RPGs, and stratagy and FPS. I am unsure of the resolution needed as I don't have a monitor (suggestions would also be helpfull $200 to spend). I don't really know how overclocking works and if it is worth it. I have heard it shortens the life of CPUs. This is the rig I came up with.

I would suggest not getting that XFX motherboard, it is a POS.

So would this build be better Of course the less money the better as I am real tight on money. I'm leaning more towards the AMD system but would like to know how these two compare.

Well the 920 will perform better with 8 threads however not oced it will be slowe then the amd, the x58 will have more pci slot and room for growth down the road, and you have 6GB of ram.
in the amd system you should drop the 275 to the 896MB version, you will not notice any difference. |
