Hi everyone, first time buyer so I need to make sure my configuration is pretty good, I've never really bought a huge gaming computer so this is my first time.
My budget is around 2,500 give or take a little, And I also I have no idea what to buy as a monitor... I want this computer to basically run all games with ease and let me play them, my laptop can hardly run any so it'll be a big change! I'll be using it mainly for gaming, starcraft 2, battlefield 2, etc. No special needs unless someone can give me some good advice for some...And now the build...Also is the pre overclocking really necessary for gaming? you build your pc around your monitor pretty much, otherwise you can endup with too much power that will not be noticed and wasted or too little power.
so lets go with monitor first, what is the budget for monitor? |

Alright, I'm not too sure, my whole budget is around 2,400-2,500 and where the computer sits right now I could pay up to around 200-300 for a good monitor.

That monitor looks really good, we will jus have to see if it will fit in with the fuget after any changes you can make to my build, so any tips on my build?

Well like I said, once we know the res of the monitor, we have an idea of what it takes to run certain games on them.
your build looks good, but you need to change the psu to a corsair brand, and keep in mind that you won't be able to do sli in that system, you need to change psu to 1000w corsair to do sli. when you look at monitors, right now basically you looking at 2 types (there are more out there but for the most parts, gamers are dealing wtih these 2), TN panel and IPS panel. look for a monitor that has the same Viewing Angle, both vertical and horizontal, and is at or above 170°, this is a sign of a quality panel on a monitor, assuring great picture quality, IPS panels are among one of those, TN panels are not, as they have lower picture quality. The monitor you have posted is most likely a TN panel, and if you put it next to the Dell I mentioned with the IPS panel, You will clearly see the picture quality and much better it is in the Dell. So in short the monitor you posted is nothing like the one I posted in picture quality. aka everything looks much better and cleaner and crisper on the Dell. Not all Dells, just the IPS panel ones. Hope that helps a bit. |
