I need to replace our old Dell Inspiron at home and with a 11 and 7 year old boys that are starting to get into computer gaming, I'd like to replace it with something that has a nice gaming lean. My main use will be for web surfing, Excel Spreadsheet use, and minimal gaming. My 11 year old likes to game with favorites being Starcraft 2, Rome 2: Total War and a bunch of Steam games. We also have Diablo 3 that has been on the shelf since my computer and its NVIDIA GeForce GT4300 can't handle the graphic of the game.
1. My Budget: $1500, though less would be acceptable 2. Expectations: Singe monitor use with our current Dell flatscreen, with an updated HD screen in the future. 3. Usage: explained above 4. Special Needs: I can't really think of any right now. I'm not sure if I would require overclocking or not. Open to suggestions here. I've looked at some other sites, but from the reviews I've read this seems the place to go. I'm looking to buy some time at the end of October and am very green when it comes to this so I'm trying to do my research on what is good and not. So what are some configurations you guys here can recommend for me?
Thanks a lot in advance. |

I would recommend either the L3 or L4 Vanquish - the L4 being the best buy if it fits your budget. Can't beat the 1399 asking price on all the hardware!

I agree with fstcvc, Vanquish is the best option. Level 4 for the SSD (solid state disk) for a fast boot and programs drive, a faster CPU, closed loop liquid cooling for the CPU and a very good graphics card.

I would also highly recommend the Level 4 Vanquish system.
For the money you mention I think that would be the best option. |
